Ghost Recon ‘Wildlands’ Features an Open World Setting For the First Time

Ghost Recon Wildlands release date will be March 7, 2017! Wildlands is an anticipated open-world tactical shooting video game by Ubisoft Paris. It is the 10th installment in the Ghost Recon series but is the first one to depict an open world environment. The game settings link to the original Ghost Recon by Tom Clancy instead of the same futuristic setting used in the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

It is said to be one of the biggest open world games ever produced by Ubisoft, featuring all types of environments from forests, mountains to salt flats and deserts. The game will be released worldwide on March 7th, 2017 across Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Ghost Recon Wildlands plays out in the Country of Bolivia, which has become increasingly unstable as the Santa Blanca drug cartel gains power and influence to the point that makes it the world’s largest cocaine producer, this concerns the United States government, as Santa Blanca’s influence spreads.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Gameplay

Ghost Recon Wildlands is a 3rd person perspective in a massive tactical shooter. You play the game as members of a fictional elite team known as “Ghosts” in the United States Army. The game uses a modern day setting similar to the original Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, instead of the futuristic settings featured in Future Soldiers and Advanced Warfighter, this is why the equipment used in the game is based on weapons that are commonly used by military forces in the world. The game also features weapons such as drones to tag and showcase the marked objectives and enemies.

There are nine different types of terrains such as desert, salt flats, and forests. It also features a dynamic weather system and a day-night cycle. However, completing missions during the daytime, helps you to spot enemies easily. Completing missions during the night gives you a tactical advantage, as you can conceal important stuff. You also have to monitor and observe your surroundings before making a move on your enemy.

The game features vehicles such as helicopters, dune buggies, and dirt bikes. In addition to the main game mission, it also includes side-missions unlike the previous games in the series.
You can reach the starting point of the mission using different ways of completing a task. The game also includes multiple ways to complete an objective such as reaching a point via helicopter, driving toward the goal and walking overland. You can also use stealth mode, melee combat or use the long-range and short-range weapons.

During a mission, you are free to explore the game’s surroundings. Moreover, the game introduces outposts that can be taken down by others. You can also grab enemies closer to you with a hand for defense while using the other hand to shoot.

You can engage and build friendly and hostile relationships with other non-playable characters including officials, citizens and rebels of the world besides completing missions. However, you will need to plan out a strategy to achieve these side objectives.

Furthermore, you can win experience points to upgrade your level. Character customization is also a prominent feature; customize your character and use weapons and other accessories available in the kit of enemy corpses.matcharted in 2012. However, it was officially announced at the Ubisoft’s E3 2015 press conference. The developers did a detailed research to create a realistic Bolivian environment. They remained in Bolivia for two weeks and consulted with the local Bolivians.

Developers are working on a new game engine, it’s got positive reviews so far, even though the critics object on its open-world design believing it strays from the typical Ubisoft’s open-world design formula. Some analysts were surprised by the game’s official revelation at E3 2015. After the official announcement, the game was nominated for different awards such as the IGN’s 2015 Game of the Show at E3, Best Playstation 4 Game Ever, Best Xbox One Game Ever and the Best PC Game Ever before claiming one of GameSpot’s best of E3 2015 awards. Wildlands was also named the best shooter and co-operative game by Game Informer during their Best of E3 2015 awards.
